Dear Customer,
ARB, importer for Warn Industries Inc (Warn), is recalling the wireless/handheld remote control sold in Australia with WARN VR EVO winches. Warn has advised that if the internal circuit board of the remote control to the winch is exposed to water, corrosion of the circuit board may occur which may, in some circumstances, result in the winch operating unintentionally. This may cause a risk of injury.
On behalf of Warn, we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused by this recall. Whilst ARB is not aware of any of its customers in Australia experiencing failures with their remote controls, Warn has advised that a small number (approximately 5) remote controls in the USA have exhibited failures that can result in unintended winch operation.
Products affected:
This recall affects remote controls shipped with all VR EVO winch models as set out below. Details of how to identify affected remote controls are at the bottom of this letter.

What do you need to do?
If you own a product listed above, you should immediately stop using the remote control, and fill out the Recall Form.
We will then send you a pre-paid self-addressed satchel so you can send the remote control to us. We will apply corrosion protection to the remote control’s circuit board and post it back to you. If we find any sign of corrosion, we will replace the remote control.
Once your remote control is returned to you, you can safely continue using your Warn EVO winch.
